Ready in 10 mins | serves 2

So we're all stuck in quarantine, I have too much time on my hands to I made french toast. That's that.

This is my first recipe post I hope you all enjoy!

DISCLAIMER: When I cook, I hardly measure, I just go by taste. Any measurements are recommendations, so just rely on your taste or someone you trust :)

Ok so here's the recipe straight up

  • 4 slices of thick cut apple bread (brioche or thick cut white is good too)

  • 3 medium eggs

  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 1/2 tbsp natural sugar (or to taste, I don't like things too sweet - but keep in mind the drizzle adds onto the sweetness!)

  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup 2% milk (or use what you want)

  • Fresh raspberries and blackberries (or whatever berries you want)

  • Maple syrup (however much you feel like having :)

  • EVOO (that's Extra Virgin Olive Oil, I'll be using this a lot in my cooking)

  • Optional: powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Get a tray that will fit all slices of bread next to each other.

  2. Lightly whisk eggs with cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.

  3. Add milk and continue to whisk.

  4. Soak bread in the mix for 4 mins and flip each slice so each piece is fully soaked.

  5. Get a nonstick pan hot and warm some EVOO, just a little drizzle should do

  6. When the oil is heated put as many slices as you can handle on the pan.

  7. Cook each side for 2-3 mins depending on the thickness. Flip once golden brown.

  8. Take off the heat and serve with fresh berries and syrup to taste (and powdered sugar if you want).
